Reference
memex show
Read one thing’s intent, then walk its trail: what it cites and what cites it.
What it does
Takes one or more paths or refs. A file prints its header, what it cites (each with its target’s one-liner), who cites it, and the READMEs above it, nearest first. A folder prints its README, then lists its children with their one-liners.
Nobody maintains a link table: citations come from the ids, paths and refs people already write, and are read in both directions. Every label it prints is valid input to show.
Flags
- --up N
- How many READMEs of the chain to print;
--up 0prints the file alone. - --comments
- Also prints the file’s other comment blocks, after the header.
- --limit N
- Caps the children and cited-by lists.
- --json
- One JSON document per call, errors included.
