Guide
Hand-off and messages
A sub-agent logs its full report and returns one line, a ref. Messages are logs with --to.
When to use it
When an orchestrator runs sub-agents and should not carry every report in its context, or when one agent leaves word for another.
Steps
- The sub-agent logs its full report:
memex log <stream> --agent <id> --to <recipient>. - It returns one line,
report: <ref>. - The orchestrator runs
memex show <ref>only when it needs the detail. - Recipients find their messages with
memex search to:<id>;memex info --agent <id>counts what is waiting.
A hand-off by reference
